Quandry: why is there a picture of a rather large pen on these pages that were created w/o the use of any sort of pen type entity?

It is because it’s a weblog, which is an online diary or journal. This design is a spoof on a traditional diary, and the pen symbolize writing, like me writing out my thoughts.
